Give a Voice

There are several ways in which you can support Heart Valve Voice. The first, and most basic, is by adding your Voice to our campaigns. For more information about this click here.

You may wish to become a volunteer.

Over the course of 2017, we will be implementing a full and high profile events strategy, making our voice heard at events across the country, including football, cricket and rugby matches, conferences and hospital open days.

We need a team of volunteers to join us, helping is to engage with the public. You’ll even get free entry into the event in return for your time and help! We welcome volunteers from ages 18+.

If you are interested in finding out more about what this involves, please email with the subject heading “Volunteer: More Info”, and we will be in contact with you.

Heart Valve Voice Ambassadors

Heart Valve Voice Ambassadors are our locally-based advocates who work to promote awareness of heart valve disease and advise us on the information and advice patients and their families need. An Ambassador can be a patient, carer or healthcare professional who shares our passion to transform the way people with heart valve disease are treated. The ways in which Ambassadors can get involved include dealing with local media and political stakeholders, supporting community events, liaising with patients and posting on social media.

Ambassadors also have the opportunity to shape the future of the charity by taking part in Heart Valve Voice’s Annual General Meeting, where key decisions are made.

As an Ambassador, you would receive a monthly email, providing information about our work, upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, and news from the sector. If you are interested in becoming a Heart Valve Voice Ambassador, please email and we will be in touch.

Patient Action Group

As a subcommittee to our Trustee Board, the Patient Action Group (PAG) meets regularly to discuss Heart Valve Voice and heart valve disease. Formed of patients, carers and family members this group help us focus on what really needs to done to transform the treatment of heart valve disease.

As a member of the PAG, you may be asked to speak at a conference or event alongside our Director’s Team, and will also be asked to share your experiences of heart valve disease on our website. You will be trained in speaking with the media, liaising with political stakeholders, and communicating with other patients via social media. This is the most active level of involvement.
