Bringing our Voice to Westminster

Our political campaigns focus on giving a Voice to heart valve disease patients and calling for change in the levels of awareness, diagnosis, referrals and treatment of heart valve disease across the UK. We regularly meet with MPs one-to-one to discuss our latest campaigns. Practical Guidance for Primary Care

Our guidance has been developed by our GP faculty to help GPs with diagnosis and referrals of patients with heart valve disease. The GP guidance is the first of its kind to discuss heart valve disease, offering practical advice on the timely assessment and appropriate treatment of the disease by GPs, including step-by-step instructions on diagnosis, examination and referral.

Heart Health Survey

We first commissioned a heart health survey in 2014. As a follow-up to our original survey, Heart Valve Voice recently commissioned a new survey among over 60s in the UK to understand awareness levels of heart valve disease; and how many over 60s are concerned about the condition. By examining results and comparing them with results in other European countries, the group was able to define the key areas to address in terms of support and education. More information
