The South Coast Summit will be a meeting involving clinicians, heart valve experts, patients and political figures brought together for a discussion that will provide a more detailed picture of the challenges and blockages to services that heart valve disease patients experience in the UK.

The team from Heart Valve Voice including CEO Wil Woan, Trustee Pat Khan, NHS Patient and Public Advisor Neil Betteridge and Patient ambassadors Christine and Katharine Greenlands, Brenda Walker and Sandra Woodcock travelled to Cambridge to discuss an upcoming study to develop an new innovative stethoscope.

Representatives from each patient organisation involved in the European Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day will be meeting in Brussels to launch the European Heart Valve Disease Partnership Manifesto.

We are proud to announce that Heart Valve Voice is being hosted by Alliance du Coeur in Paris for the European Alliances’ second meeting in 2019. We will be joined by other members in the Alliance to continue the discussions and planning for 2019 European heart valve disease awareness week.

Heart Valve Voice UK is proud to host the Global Alliance in our hometown Manchester. We were joined by Heart Valve Voice US, Canada and Italy to discussion expansion of the Heart Valve Voice charity across the global. The Global Alliance was created to share resources, information and to help create awareness of heart valve disease in multiple countries.

Heart Valve Voice will be launching its ‘Towards a Heart Healthy Future: A Gold Standard in the Diagnosis, Treatment and Management of Heart Valve Disease in Adults' in the next couple of weeks. Westminster Health Forum Seminar is a great platform for Heart Valve Voice to discuss the implementation of a heart valve disease pathway into the NHS longterm plan. Creation of specific guidelines on heart valve disease for clinicians will create a clearer understanding of referral times, treatments and recognising symptoms.

Heart Valve Voice UK will be joining Heart Valve Voice Japan in Tokyo to share the perspective of heart valve disease patients during treatment. The meeting will discuss a wide range of issues from patient pathway, treatments and technologies. Allowing for better communication and sharing of knowledge on a global stage.

Today's seminar is a great example of progress that is being made on a regional level for heart valve disease patients. Collaboration and sharing of information at a primary care level creates a better treatment pathway for patients.
