Trustees Keith Jackson and Pat Khan recently attended the Issues and Answers conference held in Nottingham. The yearly conference was co-chaired by Dr Chris Arden, GPSI cardiology, Chandlers Ford, and editor-in-chief of Primary Care and Cardiovascular Journal (PCCJ).

Keith and Pat networked with primary care professionals from across the UK and discussed our work raising awareness about the importance of stethoscope examinations and the key role primary care plays in the detection and diagnosis of heart valve disease.

The conference centred around delivering best practice and kicked off with keynote addresses from Dr Nicholas Boon and Professor Huon Gray and afterwards Chris Arden helped deliver a packed schedule focussing on clinical research and implications for everyday primary care challenges.

Between lectures, Chris found time to meet up with fellow trustees Keith Jackson and Pat Khan, who were busy manning the Heart Valve Voice stand, “Our stand was between one offering samples of an appealing range of walnut products and another devoted to a smart phone that records ECG in 30 seconds, so we were ideally placed to attract a steady stream of practice and student nurses as well as GPs,” said Keith.
